This truck has been meticulously cared for its whole life. I am the second owner, and it has been well loved since it left the dealership. The 2″ Calmini lift was added at about 90k miles, and was professionally installed, along with the off-road tires and rims.

I have owned it since 2007, and have only put about 16k on it (we used it for rec purposes only). I hate to sell it, but family needs have changed and, well, now we have a Suburban.

It is an extremely capable, amazing, totally awesome, kick ass, go-anywhere never gets stuck in anything, still turns heads when it drives by… And our most favorite activity to do with the Trooper? The Sand Dunes in Southern Colorado. It’s unstoppable and a ton of fun.

This is a truck & is built like all trucks should be. Used for work commute & as a family vehicle. Past problems/repairs: Both front pass windows came off track (tried to put them down while frozen). I’ve had 2 Troopers and loved them both. Large size SUV interior without taking up 3 parking spots. Very reliable. You can’t find a better SUV for the price.

We purchased our vehicle new in 1999. Since then we have accumulated 172,400 miles. Accomplish recommended maintenance when required and keep driving. Agree it burns oil but which it states it would in the owner manual. I have driven many SUV’s over the years and have yet to find one that I enjoy as much as my 1999 Trooper. If the engine should go out, I would not hesitate to replace the engine and keep driving. Car looks like it did the day we bought it. No corrosion and the paint is beautiful. The only way I would get rid of my Trooper is if they made another one.

Much better than I originally thought.

At first I did not like the Trooper at all. The body roll felt extreme and the acceleration felt weak. However, I found that this was an illusion. The suspension is actually tighter than it feels, so even though the roll is excessive at 30 mph, it does not roll much more at 60. As for the acceleration, the ride is so smooth that it feels slow, but it has nor problem getting a jump on traffic or climbing a hill. As for off-road and bad weather, it performs better than any I’ve ever driven.

At 209K miles we are about to trade in our trooper due to the C4C program. This is the 4th trooper in the family, 3 for us and 1 for our son. We have had no unexpected problems and I’m sorry that we have to sell it now, but the time is right.
